My coaching philosophy is to make achievement possible for those that want to reach for the stars. Working with amazing people that want to try something different and make fitness part of their lifestyles, drives me to be the best coach I can be. I guess it's because I love to see people go from being completely scared, frustrated, overwhelmed, to seeing them cross that finish line and get hooked on being healthy. Which we all know it isn't easy to do on our own. That's why I'm here to help facilitate fitness plans, training partners, and work-outs. It is my goal to make endurance sports a lifestyle for everyone, to help people lead happier healthier lives, and to grow as a person myself by being around great people.
I've been competitively swimming for over 25 years and played water polo at Purdue University. After receiving my USA Triathlon Level I Coaching certification, I continue to strive to study what's out there in the sports of swimming, cycling, and running, or just fitness in general. I will never give up learning and will always step into the unknown to be able to inform others about it.
I've done over 70 races in the past five years and have conquered up to the ½ iron distance tri along with many of my own personal growth goals along the way. I have coached athletes through all distances from 5ks to double century rides as well as Ironmans. I am adamant about using science to map out each individual athlete and believe the mental aspect of training has as much to do with success as the physical part. This is your life, these are your goals. It is my job to help you get to the end of them with a plan of happiness, healthiness, and fulfillment.
Take it one step at a time and concentrate on the small steps first. You'll get to the overall goal if you practice control and not chaos.
