I have been an athlete of one sport or another since second grade. I participated in most of the main stream sports including soccer, baseball, and football. Like most of us I grew up and fell off the athletic wagon. After becoming over 100 lbs heavier than I am now and a fast food junkie, I found my way back to life. Getting things back on track, I signed up for my first triathlon under Todd's guidance.
I dove in head first signing up for St. Croix 70.3, not owning a bike and only being able to run three miles without stopping. Oh, and the swim, it usually involved skis, a life jacket, and drunk friends. While training only four months and only two of those did I have a bike, I was instructed to do something for some experience. March 10, 2007 I became an athlete again, not just any athlete but a triathlete. I crossed the finish line of the Athens Sprint and went on to do 20 events before the end of the year. I completed everything in 2007 from 5Ks, 10Ks, ½ marathons, century rides, Olympic triathlons, relays, mud run, and St. Croix 70.3. The only two things I did not do were an Ironman and a Marathon.
In 2008 I crossed the finish line of Ironman Florida just one year and eight months after crossing in Athens, Texas. Just a few weeks after IM Florida I crossed the finish in my first stand alone marathon completing the White Rock Marathon. I would have been crazy enough to do it in 2007, but having to sign up for an Ironman a year in advance made me slow down a little. Which being a coach for Texas Triple Threat, I will preach more often. It made me be way more prepared for the big day. At the end of 2008 I had completed more than 33 events in less than two years. My goals now are to complete at least one Ironman a year for the rest of my life. It's now a lifestyle!
I am new to coaching, but as in racing, I am diving in head first. As an addicted triathlete, I come energized and full of excitement ready for the next challenge. I am ready to help you any way I can! You will set the bar, and we will reach it together!!
"Most men stop when they begin to tire. Good men go until they collapse. But the very best know that the mind tires before the body and push themselves further and further, beyond all limits. Only when the limits are shattered can the unattainable be reached."
